There are records that pendulums have been used since the days of ancient Egypt.

Originally used for “dowsing” to locate underground water sources, minerals - or anything unseen below the surface - pendulums continue to be utilized as a tool of divination.

While truly most anything that can swing from a string or chain can be used to create a pendulum, most modern practitioners create their pendulums from pointed crystal prisms.
